Public Scoping Announcement

Conceptual Trail Policy Map Alternatives Ready for Public Input

National Park Service, California State Parks, and Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy invite your participation in public scoping for the forthcoming Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Interagency Trail Management Plan (TMP).The scoping will focus on conceptual trail policy map alternatives for the TMP’s joint EIS/EIR (Environmental Impact Statement/ Environmental Impact Report). Information we gather from the public will be used to finalize the preferred, no action, and two other contrasting alternatives for the joint EIS/EIR.

There are a number of ways to participate.

  • Turn in written comments at the meetings or at the NPS Visitor Center.
  • Fax written comments to (805)370-1850, Attn: Trail Management Plan.
  • E-mail comments to SAMO_Trails@nps.gov. Please include your mailing address for future notifications.
  • Submit comments online at http://parkplanning.nps.gov. Select Santa Monica Mountains NRA as the park.
