A fumarole. There's no water in this one, just hissing steam.

Now we're at the other side of the park, at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. It's not quite the Grand Canyon, but it is very impressive!
IMG_8113.jpg
Along the short walk to Artists' Point, this is the first look at the colorful canyon

IMG_8115.jpg
Looking upstream, you can see the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River
IMG_8116.jpg
There's a lot of water flowing here!

IMG_8118.jpg
Looking downstream, you can barely see the river at the bottom of the canyon.
IMG_8119.jpg
From Artist's Point, you get a better view of the river upstream

A slightly different view

From near Uncle Tom's Point, you get a good view of the Upper Falls. It's not as high as the Lower Falls, but it has just as much water going over it ;-)
IMG_8132.jpg
When you zoom in a bit, you can see the overlook on the other side of the river, directly above the falls, called Brink of Upper Falls
