Climbing up some tight switchbacks
As well as helicopters, we saw lots of boats loaded with people.

People ahead of us taking in the view

Another look back. We've gained a lot of elevation!
This was our first view of the classic Napali Coast. It's partly obstructed by a tree, but we'll see more of these scenes pretty soon.

A better view of the coast

Further on, the trail was a bit muddy

This interesting fruit is about the size of a large grapefruit...

... when ripe, it drops these things on the ground in a pile. They're about 2" long.

These ones didn't quite make it to the ground

On the way out, we were going down these switchbacks, but Claudia turned around for me to take the photo
A tiny stream crosses the trail here
This part of the trail looks like a stream. The rocks were very steep and slippery with mud

We're starting to see Hanakapi'ai Beach
Surfers at Hanakapi'ai Beach. They carry their surfboards along this trail every time they go surfing here.
