The multi-agency Visitors Center on the outskirts of Escalante, and only a couple of blocks from the center of town.

The back of Jim's car after driving 30 miles on the dirt Hole in the Rock Road
We're headed down there, behind us. It doesn't look very exciting from up here, but just wait!
Off we go!
We had a lot of different kinds of terrain to cross on the way down to Dry Fork Coyote Gulch
At the bottom, we start in the relatively wide Dry Fork narrows
We only hiked along for about 5 minutes before turning back. We just wanted to get a taste before we got to the main event.
Back in Coyote Gulch, headed for Spooky slot, the main event.
Heading up the Spooky drainage...
...and all of a sudden the canyon becomes very very narrow...
...Jill looks a little apprehensive at this point...
...now it's starting to get really narrow, but not as narrow as it will be!
We broke into two groups because some had to get back quickly. This is the first group at the first real obstacle.
