Climbing up above the waterfall to get to the main area of Piedra Blanca
This climb up was the steepest of the hike
Piedra Blanca ahead and above us. We were running short of time, so this is as close as we got.
Climbing back down, we found the right path
Back down the little waterfall we go
Hope this isn't poison oak!
Back to the main trail
This sign is where the Gene Marshall - Piedra Blanca National Recreation Trail forks north-west
As we approach the final crossing of the Sespe River, the trail gets steeper and rocky
The Sespe River Trail continues straight ahead. We turn right to get to the cars
The Sespe River is easy to ford when there's no water in it!
You can see more of Piedra Blanca from the east end of the trail than we could from the other end
The last clilmb out of the river valley
A celebration at the end!
All the hikers at the end of the route. All that is left is to shuttle to the start and pick up the cars we left there.
