Building a new trail on the Western Plateau during the annual COSCA Trailwork Day on October 19, 2013

Our group was in the middle, so there where groups working below us as well as above us

The grass and chaparral had already been cut back, so we scraped the dirt to remove the stubble, and to give the tread an outslope of about 5-degrees so rain water would run off it to the side, rather than down the middle and make a big rut.

In many places, the trail runs along the edge of the plateau, providing great views into Hill Canyon below
