This is what it looks like inside. I just stood in the door to take the picture because there were lots of bees inside

Stairs climb up the hill from the painted structure, but to where? More on that later...

I think this is the old Josepho Ranch house. This is where "Josepho Drop" (J-Drop) trail comes down from Rogers Road (Backbone Trail) to the west
My GPS showed the trail length as 0.8 miles

In Rustic Canyon, north of J-Drop.

The trail ends at the Boy Scout Camp Josepho. We turn around here and head for J-Drop

Here we turn up J-Drop and head for Rogers Road
The bottom of J-Drop is very pleasant...
...But not much further up, we start to see some ruts due to water runoff
Some of the ruts are pretty big!

That water bar is doing a lot to prevent erosion of the trail, right?

This kind of trench is usually made by horses

Once we get to Rogers Road, we have a splendid view of the coast

From Rogers Road, we can see a few of these bright stripes going down the far side to the bottom of Rustic Canyon. But what are they? They're too steep to be trails, aren't they?
Zooming in, we see they're stairs! We saw the bottom of a couple of these at the ruins in the canyon.
